Editorial production and publishing

More editorial projects

Editorial work across different periods, scales and ways of working, presented as concise profiles. It includes over fifteen years of Spanish-language educational publishing, alongside corporate publications, book series and covers.

Educational publishing combines page composition, images, infographics, tables and learning resources. Working with HIT, which handles translation, editing and proofreading, Signum organises production, records decisions and delivers print-ready files. These profiles focus on what differs between clients: scale, structure, content and workflow.

This experience encompasses thousands of pages each year in student editions, teacher’s editions, teacher’s guides and supporting materials. The collection also includes magazine design, corporate publications, book series and covers.

Teachers’ Curriculum Institute (TCI)

TCI accounts for some of the studio’s largest publishing programmes: complete science and social studies series, numerous volumes and thousands of pages produced in parallel from English-language originals.

The challenge is to preserve rich learning structures, including lessons, activities, investigations, assessments and infographics, across extended production schedules. Stable procedures and shared checks carry decisions made in one component throughout the series.

Teacher Created Materials (TCM)

Teacher Created Materials publishes across subjects and grade levels, with resources for students and teachers. The range requires quickly understanding each programme’s logic and applying it without mixing conventions between series.

Books, guides and supporting resources run on interdependent schedules. The workflow distributes components, records decisions and maintains alignment between materials that serve different purposes within the same educational programme.

HMH Education

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

HMH programmes combine substantial volumes, interconnected components and particularly demanding technical specifications. Each title sits within a wider structure of references and resources that must remain functional in Spanish.

The work checks more than individual page composition: graphics, images, callouts and learning sequences must connect correctly across components. Production preserves those relationships while accommodating the new language.

Pearson Education

For Pearson, the adaptation focused on preserving the precise relationship between explanations, visuals and the learning sequence. Longer translated text required adjustments to hierarchy and pacing without changing the programme’s logic.

Typography, graphics and images were adjusted together so a local change would not displace important information or interrupt the intended reading sequence.

Smithsonian

Smithsonian’s science, history and cultural content relies on close relationships between text, photographs, maps, diagrams and infographics. Each page works as a narrative unit, with every element contributing evidence or context.

The Spanish editions rebalanced these relationships to accommodate longer text while keeping explanations with images, references with maps and activities with the resources needed to complete them.

Benchmark Education

Benchmark’s literacy programmes organise numerous titles into series and reading levels. Continuity between books supports gradual progress, so typography and learning resources must respect each assigned level.

Layouts, images and learning materials were adapted to that progression, with checks to prevent unintended differences between equivalent titles and related components.

Scope of work

Series adaptation · Typesetting · Page composition · Learning resources · Consistency checks

Delta Education

Delta Education’s materials support science and hands-on learning. Explanations, instructions, tables, photographs and diagrams must guide a sequence of actions students will carry out beyond the page.

Spanish typesetting paid particular attention to the relationship between steps, materials and visual support, ensuring text expansion did not make the proposed experiments ambiguous.

Marshall Cavendish Education

Marshall Cavendish Education covers different levels and subject areas, each with its own visual character. The Spanish editions needed to preserve those distinctions within a shared technical workflow.

Composition, images and graphics followed each title’s logic, with final checks covering both technical accuracy and consistency within the series.
