Studio

Experience and sound judgement in identity, communications and visual design.

Signum is a design and visual communication studio with over 25 years of experience.

Every project involves direct engagement in understanding the brief, making design decisions and guiding the work through to completion.

Over two decades of practice have brought long-standing relationships with organisations and projects of different scales, alongside experience in editorial, corporate, sales and digital design.

That experience helps us understand context quickly, anticipate implementation challenges and connect strategic decisions with visual detail and production.

Experience

Our work spans open design competitions, national identity programmes, corporate relationships lasting more than a decade and educational publications running to thousands of pages.

The gallery brings together projects from different periods and scales, from individual marks and covers to extensive programmes. These projects appear in the four thematic collections and complement the eight detailed case studies.

How we work

Signum combines a considered approach, direct collaboration and a flexible team.

This keeps us close to the project at every stage, makes visual decisions consistent and allows specialist collaborators to join when the scale or nature of the work calls for them.

Depending on the brief, the studio can bring together design, copywriting, web development, illustration, motion graphics, photography, editorial production and technical support.

Our approach

The most important decisions are made close to the challenge and to the people who will use the result.

We combine direct conversation, visual exploration and tests on real applications before settling on a direction.

Every choice should have a reason, be easy to explain and continue to work as the project changes in scale, format or team.

Let’s talk about your project

The first conversation is direct and focused on understanding the challenge. Tell us the context and we’ll arrange a discussion about how to approach it.
