Bring Science Alive! is a middle-school science curriculum with a shared structure across biology, genetics, ecosystems, physics, matter, Earth, space, waves, weather and climate. The project covered nine core Spanish-language volumes totalling more than 2,000 pages, plus supporting materials. Its scale lay not just in the page count but in maintaining a complex, technically rigorous editorial structure across the entire series.
Working from source files, translated content and programme specifications, Signum rebuilt every page in Spanish. Page composition, style checks, image adjustments and final file preparation formed part of a shared workflow with translators, editors, proofreaders and production managers. Feedback at each stage had to be incorporated without losing earlier changes or disturbing approved elements elsewhere.

Units combined lessons, guiding questions, scientific concepts, activities, investigations, assessments and supporting resources. Every page involved relationships to check: headings, callouts, references, captions, graphics and learning sequences. The supporting components also had to preserve consistent naming, numbering and references so teachers and students could move easily between materials.

Translation changes text length, line breaks and the balance between words and images. Each page required careful reflow: redistributing text blocks, adjusting graphics and resolving overflow while preserving the learning sequence and original specifications. Tables, diagram labels, highlighted vocabulary and instructions needed particular care, because a small change could affect meaning, fit and the connection to an illustration.

Photographs, illustrations, diagrams, tables, instructions, glossaries, indexes and credits went through different checks before files were finalised. Recorded decisions, checks on recurring elements and disciplined coordination across deliveries allowed nine books to work as a single series. The same process accommodated late corrections and new versions without disrupting volumes still in production.

The work involved thousands of small decisions, each made without compromising the overall programme. Editorial craft, technical oversight and sustained coordination helped the Spanish editions preserve the learning experience of the originals. That precision had to hold from page to page, across different scientific topics, resources and production stages.
